I love the sound of the metal basketball net going swoosh during
Dirtbowl
and the sound of the ball hitting my 30 inch 19 ounce Rampage baseball bat and the thud the ball connecting with grass only feet over the fence
and the sound of the splash of me hitting water in a cannonball
and the sound of your parents and other parents cheering you on
as you hit a home run
and the sound of my cool (not slang Maggie) and comfy bed as I fall into my dreams
and the sound of pop rocks popping franticly in my mouth
after Halloween
and the sound of the smooth soccer ball hitting the back of the net and rolling down the back during a goal
and the mute of a midnight walk
and the jangle of a friends door as they welcome me in

I like how you put swoosh in italics, and I think your golden line should be and the sound of my cool and comfy bed as I fall into my dreams.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the poem. Keep up the good work!
