You are the sparkling moon
on the lake
Your shiny puffs of
heat and love
death and danger
Your unsatisfied
hunger
for trees and houses
Your birth was a
match or a stove
When you arrive
gasoline and
ashes flare and
dance
You have
a deep dark secret waiting to
be freed your deep dark secret is
safe with me.

Wow! That was amazing Annapurna! Good job!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was going through my poetry from a few years ago and decided to edit and write this one!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to revise some work that you already had!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I thought that because it was from a few years ago, even though I revised it, it might not be as good.
ReplyDeleteI think that authors can come back to their work. After all, it belongs to them, doesn't it? If you want to revisit a piece and revise it, do you think that it matters how long ago a piece was written? There's not a right or wrong answer here, I seriously want to know what you think!
